Monday 5.4

Lunch: soba noodles, cabbage, broc, chilli, oyster sauce

Dinner: fried mushrooms, potato and celeriac (mashed then fried, doesn't quite work, celeriac is too watery and I should've known), salad

Tuesday 6.4

Gratin of leeks, linguine with mushroom and porcini sauce

Apple and blackberry, toasted oats and ground almonds, cream

Wednesday 7.4

Duchy Beetroot soup

Cassoulet of mushroom, porcini, haricots, confit tomatoes; bread, watercress

Spag with red peppers, chevre, hazlenuts, rocket

Raspberries, cream, amaretti

Turkish braised celeriac, turnip, onion; salted lemon pureed with olive oil

Cafe Pasta, Stratford. A long ride that turned into 150km.

Goose leg, braised lettuce, potatoes, chutney

Prune and honey cake, prune and brandy sauce, cream

Lunch: potatoes with tomatoes, pinekernels anchovies

Dinner: Mike and Philippa

Aubergine slices with pomegranate molasses; walnut and barberry kibbeh

I boiled 8tbs bulghar; pureed half with a little water. Fried and chopped walnuts, some barberries, shallot, garlic, sumac. Made into 12 cakes, squashed some sesame seeds into them, dusted with flour. Then fry. This seems to be about right.

Peppers stuffed with breadcrumbs, confit tomatoes, tomato puree, garlic; butter beans and wild garlic; new potatoes

The garlic is from the woods near Birdlip. Tough trip after yesterday's ride. I don't know of anywhere closer though there may be some on Crippetts.

Rhubarb crumble, ginger ice cream

170ml single cream and 1 large egg. Generous amount of dried ginger. A few squares of white choc, chopped. Some candied ginger chopped, and 1 tbs syrup and 1 tbs sugar. This gives a good consistency.

Veal escalopes, orange, tarragon cream sauce with mushrooms, sugar snaps, saute new potatoes

Fried chicken and cabbage, chinese "bbq" sauce, black beans and garlic, soba noodles

The Plough, Cold Aston. mtb ride. we ate outside

Dinner: avocado, tomato, cilantro

Trout, sort of escabeche, Black beans with chipotle, spring onions, corn tortillas

I fried the trout then sat it in tha marinade for 1.5 hrs, then fried again briefly to crisp the skin. We had wheat beer with this

Lunch: salad of red and january king cabbage, celeriac, horseradish, apple, bulghar, fried walnuts

which we ate in the garden

Dinner: Salad of bacon, avocado, aubergine, rocket, ciabatta

Grilled peaches, cream, creme de peche, amaretti

Sweetcorn fritters, peanut chilli tamarind sauce

Brisket, braised in soy and anise, soba noodles, salad with cucumber, spring onions

Fillet steak, red wine, mustard, cream sauce; courgettes, gnocchi

Peaches with sugar and oatmeal caramel; white choc, cream, blackberry and apricot brandy sauce

I tried to think of something different to what we had on Sunday

seems very springlike but the broad beans are from the freezer. The ramsoms were from Birdlip woods

The Daneway. Somehow it had take us nearly 4 hours to get there

Dinner: Lamb shanks with Indian spices and dhal; cucumber raita and salad

Dinner: grilled asparagus, parma ham

"african" curry of chicken, sweet potato, peppers, tomato, coconut, cilantro; rice

Haddock in Parma Ham, white wine and confit tomato sauce, green beans, saute new potatoes

Mango fool, chilli and lime leaf syrup

Tuesday 27.4

Smoked mackerel, salad of green beans, salted and pickled lemons, barberries, fresh garlic, mint

Chicken breast in sesame seeds, fried then sliced; courgette in strips fried, green salad with avocado oil, quinoa with cumin and rose harissa

Wednesday 28.4

Chorizo, pointy cabbage, red lentils, potatoes

I had meant to out olive oil on the potatoes but got sesame instead, it's rather nice
