Lunch: spring rolls of g-fowl scraps, peanut-chilli relish; pak choi, spring onion, carrot with noodles, oyster sauce

Dinner: psb, onions, lentils with balsamic truffle glaze

Gnocchi with mushrooms, porcini, spinach, cream

this was all a bit rubbish , I'd kept about 4oz potato from yesterday and added 2 oz flour and 0.5 of semolina, the dough felt convincing but the gnocchi were heavy. The spinach makes the sauce watery, maybe better to cook it and drain it first. Anyway colins got the same stinky cold I had last week so we're not trying too hard

Dinner, boled spiced beef, cucumber in vinegar and dill, saurkraut, potato and celeriac mash, mustard, chutney

Juice of 1 lemon, 1.5 tbs sugar, 1 med egg, 0.5 tbs butter. Whisk juice, sugar, egg; melt butter & slowly cook the juice-egg mix to a curd. Soak 1.5 Costa leaves gelatine and dissolve in the warm curd, then add dregs of cream and enough thick yog to make 10 floz. And some OFW too. Let it almost set then decant into little pudding bowls

This is meze in the sense of using up what was in the fridge. Colin says this is the only thing to do with carrots. Vinegar.

I only realised Peter was here for the conference on Monday. First ideas for what to cook were tagine or sausage-and-beans, not sure how it turned into salmon, but WR had a last piece of wild Alaska salmon just the right size.
