Quite a lot of work, especially with the half-marathon I ran halfway through the cooking in the morning. I'd tried doing more elaborate food than previous years, and inviting fewer people, but a bit frustrating as quite a lot of people left early and we had some no-shows. Not sure whether I'll bother next year.

Bellinis

3 large peaches did enough for 2tpbs puree for each of 12 cocktails

Red peppers with cod brandade, sourdough with mushroom pate, grilled aubergine slices with balsamic

Pork fillet in vine leaves on the BBQ, courgettes with mint and marjoram, flageolet beans with garlic, lemon, preserved lemon; fennel with tomatoes and olives, new potatoes,

Did 4 fillets but only 2 1/2 got eaten. Most of the veg went. 5 courgettes, 12 oz flags, 5 fennel
